Yesterday I was browsing through a few of my friend’s pictures on Facebook, and I ran across one photo captioned, “no apartment is complete until you have your own coffee/tea corner.” Upon looking closely at this picture, I had to agree that she has a very nice coffee and tea corner, but as I compared it with mine, I decided that the organization of mine… and of my whole kitchen in fact, is lacking logic and convenience. A light came on in my head and I realized how it’s been causing me to run around, expending unnecessary amounts of energy while I’m cooking. In my c&t corner, I had been keeping spices in the cabinet above, where I should have been keeping my mugs. Suddenly aware of disorganization, I *had* to do something. The whole process took me the entire afternoon. I had so much fun! I ended up rearranging all 5 of my upper cabinets yesterday, cleaning the insides of each as I went. Some cabinets had some gross looking wallpaper taped onto the shelves. That had to go. ugh. It was gross. I had been meaning to take care of that for a while. Now, both my husband and I are pretty happy with this new set up. Afterwards, I started baking and I was surprised with how little walking I had to do. I told Daniel that I’ll probably gain some weight now from all the walking I won’t have to do anymore because everything is in a more convenient place!

It’ll be funny to have our friends over, who regularly come by, and to see them try to find stuff in cabinets now that they’re all rearranged! Do you have a coffee and tea corner in your kitchen?
Sorry this site is so ugly right now. It will be getting a facelift by my web designer hubby at some point when he’s not too swamped with work. I love that man : )
